so, it's, like,, a website, that you scroll through, and there's music with the scrolling, and there's words that go by, and there are some pictures, but the pictures are made of words, and so it's kind of a music video but also kind of not because it's just a website with text

this project took me about 2 weeks to finish. there's only 80 lines of javascript code for the music playback, but there are 9,654 html tags placed in different places with different colors and sizes. i wrote a python script to help me with the instruments, but a lot of it was done by hand. the larger word clouds were rendered by a rust program i wrote that takes png files and converts them to a list of text objects. the source code for that is here: https://codeberg.org/aaaash/fishes.

i had a lot of fun with this! it was great to see people's reactions when playing with it for the first time.
